About US
Sesame Pacific has been operated for more than forty years by England Soonalole initially in Dunedin, Christchurch, then Samoa and also in Auckland. Participants include families from various Pacific nations in addition to other ethnic groups in New Zealand. The 2022 programme comprises of twenty-two families made up of Tongans, Samoans, Niueans, Palagis, Japanese ranging from Year 1 to Year 13 and residing in Auckland West, Auckland Central and the Manukau District.
The current programme runs through Wednesday, Thursday & Saturday during the evenings from 6.30pm until 9pm.
Our Mission
SESAME PACIFIC will reach out to the Pacific learners of all ages and through the enhancement and advancement of their levels of literacy and numeracy. These learners will succeed academically, physically and socially and will have a better chance of a successful career hence contributing positively to families, the environment, the country and to the world.

Clarification of current curriculum mathematical concepts
Lessons to cover gaps in learning from earlier years
Review of mathematical concepts already learnt
Enhancement of above-average students
Clarifications of basic concepts of Financial Literacy
Tips for exam preparation
Discussion with parents on individual student progress
Assistance in Literacy and Writing development
Assistance in Homework for specific subject areas
Special sessions on debates; speech development and on essay writing
Sessions for motivation and career planning for the older students
Time management techniques
Clarification of concepts in other specialised subject areas (dependent on tutor availability)
